Amanda Perez is a Licensed Master Social Worker–Conditional Clinical (LMSW-CC) and a Certified Grief Informed Professional. She recognizes that reaching out for support can take courage and feels honored to walk alongside clients as they take that step. Her professional path has included hospice care, child welfare, and volunteer work with adults with intellectual disabilities—experiences that have deepened her respect for the many ways people navigate change, loss, and growth. Amanda holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington, where she specialized in direct practice with children and families. She is dually licensed in Maine as an LMSW-CC and in Texas as an LMSW. Her professional experience includes four years in hospice care, where she supported patients and families through end-of-life experiences with compassion and dignity, as well as work as a Child Protective Services caseworker in Texas, supporting children and families through difficult circumstances and transitions. She also brings experience in juvenile probation, training in play therapy, and long-term volunteer work with children and youth in community and church settings. These diverse experiences have shaped Amanda’s ability to provide steady, compassionate support during times of crisis, loss, change, and transformation. Whether working with children, families, or adults, she strives to bring empathy, advocacy, collaboration, and respect for each individual’s unique experiences to the counseling relationship.
Amanda's Counseling Philosophy
Amanda believes therapy should meet clients exactly where they are. Sometimes that means creating space to process grief or trauma, sometimes it involves finding practical coping strategies for everyday stressors, and other times it simply means having someone who will listen without judgment. She strives to provide a safe, compassionate, and person-centered space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward at their own pace. Amanda approaches each person as unique, honoring individual strengths while recognizing the importance of connection and community. Guided by the Social Work Code of Ethics, she places a high value on integrity, respect, and dignity in every interaction. Through her work with clients, Amanda hopes to provide support as they navigate challenges while helping them recognize their own resilience, strengths, and capacity for growth.
