Jacki Nadeau is a caring, dedicated and compassionate licensed clinical social worker in the State of Maine. She graduated with her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of New England. She has had a lifelong passion for helping others. During her training, she formed an interest in direct clinical work and began her journey as a therapist in 2020. She specializes in working with adolescents (12-17) and young adults (18-29) who are struggling with identity formation, addiction, mental health challenges, complex trauma, life transitions, and/or family conflict. She has specific training and experience in family therapy, parent coaching, and working with the parent/child relational dynamic. Over the years , she has worked with many adolescents and families to help heal painful wounds, work through traumatic experiences, and ultimately form deeper connections. Whether through individual therapy, family sessions, or parent coaching, Jacki, works collaboratively with both clients and their families to develop lasting, positive change.
Jacki's Counseling Philosophy
Jacki's counseling philosophy is built off the belief that a strong trusting relationship creates the therapeutic foundation in which healing can occur. She provides trauma informed care and uses a strength-based perspective. She is skilled in multiple modalities including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Structural Family Therapy (SFT). She is also certified in Seeking Safety, which is a program designed for people struggling with PTSD and/or substance abuse. Jacki is committed to supporting clients by meeting them where they are and helping them make meaningful, lasting changes in their lives. With a warm, empathetic approach, Jacki, helps clients build resilience, improve emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, and achieve personal growth. She understands the complexities of preteens, teens and young adults and with her flexible approach, she tailors treatment to meet the unique needs of each client. When working with children or adolescents, Jacki believes in the power of involving caregivers in the therapeutic journey. By fostering open communication and strengthening family dynamics, she empowers caregivers to support their child's emotional growth, create a safe and nurturing environment at home, and build stronger relationships within the family unit.
